The night the tunnel sang back
We played one note into a tunnel and it came back four seconds later wearing a different hat. So we answered it. Two hours passed. A dog conducted.
Heve Heve Bebe

Music finds people before people find music.
Press play. We can neither confirm nor deny what happens next.
*we tried rehearsing once. life interrupted. see FAQ.
A mix of live music and experimental interactive theater and goofy groovy dance party and just beauty and truth.
We formed the way most good things form - by accident, then on purpose. Horn players who'd toured the world, desert builders, a puppeteer, someone's cousin who could really dance. We pointed a vehicle at the horizon and started playing.
No fixed set list. No fourth wall. No two nights alike. We trust the crowd, wherever it gathers. Strangers show up; something else goes home.
We don't perform for people. We perform with them.

Professional musicians. Questionable adults.
Heve Heve Bebe doesn't mean anything. It's a sound - the kind of thing James Brown might holler mid-haze because it was simply too cool and too rhythmic to keep inside. Heavy on the one. Heavy on the two.
Say it three times and your shoulders start negotiating with the beat. It's a heavy, heavy dance groove wearing a name. Your feet and your body can't help themselves - and honestly, neither can we.
^ that's the whole arrangement

(the most reliable one, honestly)

Part sculpture, part stage, part Burning Man art car, part kinetic installation, part mythical creature. It arrives before we do. Sometimes the audience follows it through the city. Sometimes it is the stage. Sometimes the show has already begun and nobody has realized yet.
If you see it parked, do not wait for permission to dance.
Tap a pin. Every one has a story, and not all of them are strictly verifiable.
We fell into a second line by accident and could not find our way out for three days. Best three days. Somebody’s uncle still calls to check on us.
verified by nobody
Not one shred of evidence supports the notion that life is serious.
Just get up and dance. This is not negotiable, and there is nobody to negotiate with.
The groove is exempt. The groove is exempt from everything.
That's the set list. That's the philosophy. That's the whole thing, honestly.
We don't fully remember what this one means. We honor it anyway.
Video, photos, quotes, press we can't verify, and objects of unknown origin. Curated by nobody. Reorganized by the bebe.

…and then the whole square was a choir and we had forgotten which of us started it. A dog conducted. The groove, of course, kept going.

Warning: side effects include dancing. Nobody has ever regretted it. Except, perhaps, the neighbors.
Testimonials we could not confirm and would not remove. Presented museum-style, because someone said we couldn't.

Grandmothers know rhythms we forgot. Children have no concept of "too much." And if everyone dances, the world becomes briefly impossible to hate.
Usually life interrupts. This is not a problem. This is the method. Please hydrate. Then dehydrate dancing.
Book us. Or send us a street corner, a park, a tunnel with unbelievable acoustics, a rooftop, a forest clearing, a museum, a village square, a festival - any magical place where people should dance. We'll probably make an appearance. (Be forewarned.)
Someone from the caravan will materialize shortly. In the meantime: stretch. Hydrate. Tell no one, or everyone.
We post from wherever we are, whenever the ship has signal. Grainy, sideways, occasionally upside down. Exactly like the shows.
